The hill has 365 steps which indicates the 365 days of the year. Tirutani is said to be the place where the Lord Subramanya married Valli. Avani thirunal, Skanda Shashti Aippasi are very famous festivals of this temple. One has to climb 60 steps to reach the temple which represents 60 Tamil calendar years. The shrines of Meenakshi and Sundareswarar is located 60ft above the ground. The temple has three Gopurams with three praharams. There are totally 38 sub-temples are attached to the main temple. Thai poosam and panguni Uthiram festivals are very famous and notified festivals of this temple.
